About Me

As a 1.5 generation Korean-American, navigating different cultures taught me to embrace my own sense of style. This perspective led me to see fashion not just as clothing, but as a form of personal expression. My love for it started really young, when I’d obsessively shop for my Barbies (since convincing my immigrant parents to constantly buy me new clothes wasn’t exactly an option). Even then, I thought a career in fashion was something that only happened in movies.

By 13, I set my sights on becoming a psychologist. I was fascinated by people’s perspectives and loved deep conversations that got to the root of things. “You should be a shrink when you grow up.” A literal quote from a fellow 7th grader (ah, the ’90s). I graduated with my psych degree in 2004, but by then, I’d already decided grad school wasn’t for me.

I had a different dream: to move to NYC to dive into fashion.

In 2007, I left Los Angeles for New York to get into fashion merchandising. I worked my way up from merchandising assistant to buyer, eventually landing roles at Barneys New York and Net-A-Porter. But by 2015, after years in the luxury sector, I wanted something deeper, something beyond the status and image-driven side of high-end fashion. Yes, I loved the clothes, but I wanted to work with people in a way that felt more meaningful... more real.

During that transition, I took a personal styling role as a temporary fix. It was sales-driven, and since I wasn’t a “salesperson,” I approached it the way I knew best: through real connections and problem-solving. Within a year, I was in the top 10% of the company without even knowing my sales goals. That’s when I realized I could marry my two passions, fashion and psychology, after all.

By 2020, I made the leap. I became a full-time private personal stylist and I haven’t looked back since.

My Approach

Style is more than clothes. It's a reflection of who you are and how you want to be seen. That's why I start by understanding you: your lifestyle, and what you're actually trying to build a life around. From there, we work piece by piece toward a style that's practical and genuinely yours.

Honesty and trust are, and always will be, at the foundation of my process. I believe in straightforward guidance and genuine connection, because without these, it’s impossible to make real progress.

Ultimately, my clients value more than just a polished look or the latest trends. They value a highly personalized experience, a true discernment for quality, and a relationship built on collaboration and care.

My Experience

My psychology background and my fashion experience are an unusual combination, but they shape everything about how I work with clients. Psychology changed how I connect and communicate, and helped me understand what people actually need. Two decades in fashion gave me a sharp eye for quality, fit, and construction, the kind of detail that leads to better style and better decisions.

I've worked one-on-one with private clients since 2015, building every experience around their actual life and goals. I've also trained extensively in custom clothing, which gives me a real understanding of garment construction and proper alterations.

One-on-one styling with me is personal and intentional. The goal is a wardrobe you can keep building on for years.
